2 Corinthians 6:14–18 (MEV)
“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers…”
Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians 6 challenge us to understand that the will of God is not simply about where we go—it is also about how we live and who we allow to influence our lives.
God has a purpose for each of us, and living in His will requires intentional choices.
Who we connect ourselves to matters.
Paul reminds us that we cannot allow relationships to continually pull us away from the values, convictions, and direction God has given us.
This doesn't mean we isolate ourselves from people who don't know Christ. Jesus called us to reach people, love people, and be a light to the world.
But there is a difference between influencing someone for Christ and allowing someone to influence you away from Christ.
Ask yourself:
Who is influencing my decisions, my priorities, my attitudes, and my walk with God?
The will of God requires us to be intentional about the relationships we build and the voices we allow to speak into our lives.
Paul asks, “What agreement does the temple of God have with idols?”
Then he reminds us:
“You are the temple of the living God.”
Think about that.
God doesn't want us to become a copy of the world. He has called us to be different because He has placed something unique inside each of us.
Your personality, experiences, gifts, talents, testimony, and calling are not accidents.
God can use what makes you different to accomplish His purpose through you.
Living in God's will means discovering who God created you to be—and then being willing to live that way.
You don't have to compete with someone else's calling.
You don't have to imitate someone else's journey.
Be who God created you to be, and faithfully fulfill what He has called you to do.
Paul says:
“Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord.”
Then God makes an incredible promise:
“I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
Our worship flows from knowing who God is and who we are in relationship with Him.
God is our Father, and we are His sons and daughters.
Worship is more than what happens when we sing on Sunday morning.
Worship is how we live.
What we give our attention to, what we pursue, what we value, what we prioritize, and what we surrender to all reveal what we truly worship.
When we understand that we belong to the Father, our worship becomes a response to His love, His presence, and His place in our lives.
If God is going to have first place in our lives, we must deliberately give Him first place.
Don't accidentally worship God.
Choose Him.
Don't accidentally pursue His presence.
Seek Him.
Don't accidentally follow His will.
Surrender to Him.
Living in the will of God requires more than simply asking, “God, what do You want me to do?”
Sometimes the greater question is:
“God, who do You want me to become?”
His will affects our relationships.
His will affects our identity.
His will affects our worship.
So, this week, let's live intentionally, purposefully, and deliberately.
Be intentional about your relationships.
Be purposeful about your uniqueness.
Be deliberate about your worship.
Because when we live separated unto God, we discover that His will isn't simply a destination we're trying to find—it's a life we're called to live as His sons and daughters.
What area of your life do you believe God is asking you to become more intentional, purposeful, or deliberate in?
