PASTOR’S BLOG
Sometimes we ask, “God, what is Your will for my life?”
We want God to reveal His plan, His purpose, and His direction. But Romans 12:1–2 shows us that understanding God’s will begins with something deeper than simply asking for answers.
It begins with surrender, separation, and transformation.
Paul says to offer our bodies to God as a living and holy sacrifice.
God's will becomes clearer when we stop asking, “What do I want?” and begin asking, “God, what do You want?”
A living sacrifice means giving God our plans, our desires, our time, our talents, and our future.
When we surrender our lives to God, we position ourselves to discover His purpose for our lives.
Romans 12:2 says, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world.”
The world has a way of shaping our values, priorities, attitudes, and decisions. If we're constantly allowing the world to influence our thinking, it can become difficult to recognize God's direction.
Following God's will requires us to recognize that God's way is not always the world's way.
We don't have to conform to the culture around us when Christ has called us to be transformed by Him.
Paul tells us to “let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.”
This is where transformation happens.
God's Word begins to change how we see ourselves, how we see others, how we see our circumstances, and how we understand His purpose.
A renewed mind helps us recognize what God desires.
When our minds are being renewed by God's Word, we become better equipped to discern His will and recognize what is good, pleasing, and perfect.
God's will isn't always revealed all at once.
Sometimes God reveals His will as we surrender.
Sometimes He reveals His will as we separate ourselves from worldly influences.
And sometimes He reveals His will as He renews our minds.
Surrender your life.
Reject the world's patterns.
Renew your mind.
And as God transforms you, you will begin to understand more clearly His will, His purpose, and His plan for your life.
Are you asking God to reveal His will—or are you first allowing Him to transform you?
